Reconstruction of British Embassy in Belgrade completed
After several months of works, the reconstruction of the facade of the Embassy of Great Britain in Resavska Street is completed. On that occasion, the Ambassador of Great Britain to Serbia, Stephen Wordsworth, estimated that that, in some way, represented the proof of trust in Serbia and its future.
British Ambassador reminded that the building of the Embassy of Great Britain had been built in 1927. The materials that were used in reconstruction of the facade were selected to fit the building of that age. Mr. Wordsworth pointed out that the whole project cost about 0.5m GBP.
The manager of the facade reconstruction project, Nil Beningfield, said that, prior to recently finished works, the facade had been painted with inappropriate, modern, plastic colors, which had cracked and let the water destroy the building and its structure.
