Company "Fiat automobili Srbija" will be formally put in operation in mid-November when the Italian company will provide half of 200m EUR worth of founding capital of the joint venture.

According to Zoran Radojević, the Director General of "Zastava vozila" Group, the Kragujevac-based factory and the experts from Italy have already prepared for new investments and installation of new units. The works on other infrastructural facilities that are significant for the operations of the Italian-Serbian company are in progress.

The works on the highway between Kragujevac and Batočina, through the central municipality in Šumadija, are close to end. In that way, "Fiat" will have access to Corridor 10. The projects for northern and southern bypasses have been finished, which will enable undisturbed flow of about 400 towing trucks per day through this part of the city.

- One of the largest Chinese companies will participate in realization of the whole project - says Nebojša Zdravković, the Deputy Mayor of Kragujevac and the coordinator of Fiat's projects in the city. - They will, most likely, build the road infrastructure worth about 3m RSD. It is the company that is famous for construction of Olympic stadium "Bird Nest" in Beijing.

In addition to the negotiations on new Serbian-Italian company, the two sides are also intensively talking about formation of completely new cooperative network of companies in Serbia, which could back the production of new "Fiat" models in Kragujevac. The projects for new "Fiat" factories were submitted to the Government of Serbia about 45 days ago. What is for sure is that seven Italian companies will arrive in Kragujevac, but the representatives of our country are also negotiating with other suppliers to join Zastava's new production process.

Total of 20 ha in industrial zone Korman Field are reserved for construction of new "Iveco" factory. According to "Novosti", the Italian factory plans to move the bus factory from Lion to aforementioned location.
