Tendering procedure for reconstruction of King Nikola's Palace in Niksic opens – Works worth EUR 1.2 million

The Public Works Administration of Montenegro has opened the tendering procedure for the reconstruction of King Nikola's Palace in Niksic.

Bids may be sent by October 23, and the opening will take place on the same date, whereas the best bidder will be selected based on the price offered and the quality of the offer within 30 days.

The works on the palace, which are worth EUR 1.2 million, as previously announced by the local self-government, entail a full reconstruction of the walls, ceilings, floors, a part of the roof, the repair of stone pathways and staircases, the adaptation of the building for people with disabilities, whereas special attention will be paid to the system of heating and cooling, to the end of protecting the items in the Heritage Museum. The work completion deadline is 12 months from the possession of the site, Vijesti reports.


The tendering procedure for professional supervision of the reconstruction works has opened as well, and bids may be sent by October 28, whereas the best bid will be chosen within 60 days.

King Nikola's Palace was built in 1900 on the occasion of forty years of the monarch's rule.
