Žarko Zrenjanin Boulevard in Vršac opened for traffic


New Žarko Zrenjanin Boulevard in Vršac, in the refurbishment and equipping of which 400m RSD were invested, was opened for traffic yesterday (October 14, 2009). It is the largest investment in that city over the last 20 years.
This ceremony took place in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, the Minister of Infrastructure, Milutin Mrkonjić, the President of the Executive Council of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, and the Mayor of Vršac, Čedomir Živković.
The Republic Government invested 225m RSD in construction of the new boulevard 1.24 km long, while the Executive Council provided 136m RSD through the Capital Investments Fund. In addition, part of the funds was provided by the municipality, that is, "Elektrovojvodina" and company "2. oktobar". The funds of the Provincial Government were invested in construction of all necessary infrastructure for the largest and the most modern road in Vršac.
The Minister of Infrastructure, Milutin Mrkonjić, announced realization of the project for construction of new road that would connect Bucharest and Timisoara with the ports of Bar in Montenegro and Bari in Italy via Vršac.
