Factory "Leoni" to start production on October 22nd - first shipment from Prokuplje for German BMW
- German factory "Leoni", which deals with production of automobile cables, will start production in Prokuplje-based unit on Thursday (October 22, 2009) - the Manager of that unit, Petar Proharski, said today (October 19, 2009).
- Production will be started by 120 workers, and the first quantity of produced cables will be delivered to German factory BMW - Proharski told Beta agency.
- The workers have completed the training in Slovakia - he pointed out and added that another 170 workers were being trained at the moment.
- We plan to employ 500 workers prior to March 2010, and another 2,000 workers within the next three years - said he.
Factory "Leoni" bought a part of Prokuplje-based factory "Fiaz" last year for 58m RSD.
Since then, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning has set aside 30m RSD for decontamination of the land occupied by the factory.
