Several companies from Serbia active in the water processing sector, production of machines, agriculture, solar power and information technologies are negotiating with representatives of free zones of Dubai and Abu Dhabi about initiating operations in the United Arab Emirates, and the opening of the first regional centers can be expected by the end of the year, announced the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS).

Through the recent agreements between the CCIS and the free zones of the UAE, companies and business people from Serbia and the Western Balkans are able to found branch offices in free zones under favorable conditions.

Accelerated procedures of company opening and a considerable reduction of costs, as well as support from commercial banks and full logistics and expert support for an efficient starting of a business, have been provided for them.

– Partners from the Emirates recognize the potential of Serbia, which they see as a strategic partner and the leader of the economic development of the Western Balkans – said the head of the CCIS Office in Dubai, Marko Selakovic.

The CCIS Office in Dubai, which opened two months ago, offers business people the possibility of direct connecting with concrete business partners, support in getting to know the market and the conditions of doing business in the Emirates, as well as in selling products and services in that market and the markets of the Middle East, Africa and India.

As Selakovic reminded, the United Arab Emirates are a global business and logistics center which facilitates business activities in markets covering over 4.5 billion consumers.

– It is especially important that companies will have support from these free zones in realizing cargo and logistics procedures more quickly. Furthermore, companies can become part of specialized clusters or use services of incubators and development centers within the free zones with which the agreements have been signed. Some of these centers, especially in the fields of IT, aviation and food manufacture and processing are among the leading ones in the world – Selakovic explained.
