– Our vision is to have Serbia covered in highways and connected with its neighbors, and the project on which we signed the agreement today is important for achieving that goal. The first part of the traffic route, from Ruma to Sabac, will be built as a highway, with six lanes, the second part, from Sabac to Loznica, will be built as a high-speed route, with four lanes, and a new bridge on the Sava will be built as well – Mihajlovic said during the signing.
The value of the commercial contract is EUR 467.5 million, and the total length of the highway and the high-speed route Ruma-Sabac-Loznica is 77 kilometers.
Mihajlovic emphasized that this traffic route would connect close to 600,000 people in Macva and Srem and that it was important for connecting Podrinje and Western Serbia with Vojvodina, but also with the region, especially Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On behalf of Azvirt, the contract was signed by the company's executive director, Kamil Aliyev.
The project of the construction of the highway and high-speed route Ruma-Sabac-Loznica is split into three sections. The first is the Ruma-Sabac highway, from E-70 highway (Ruma interchange) to the bridge on the Sava in Sabac, 21.14 kilometers long, with a speed limit of 130 km an hour. The second section is the bridge on the Sava in Sabac, 1,327.5 meters long. The third section is the high-speed route from Sabac to Loznica, 54.58 kilometers long, with a speed limit of 100 km an hour, it is said on the Ministry's website.
