OTP Banka has become the owner of 99.73% of SKB Banka, the subsidiary of Societe Generale Group in Slovenia, and other subsidiaries owned by SKB Banka.

With a market share of nearly 9%, SKB Banka is the fourth biggest bank in the banking market in Slovenia. As a universal bank, it is active in both the retail and the corporate segment.

With the acquisition of the Slovenian bank, OTP Group has increased the number of markets it operates in. It is now present in 12 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which further strengthens the position of this banking group.

We remind that, in the first half of 2019, the former OTP Banka and Vojvodjanska Banka officially finalized one of the most complex integrations. Following that, a new expansion followed in September – Societe Generale Serbia became part of OTP Group and continues operating in the country as OTP banka Srbija.

The new OTP banka Srbija and Vojvodjanska banka are in a process of integration which will last until 2021, and its finalization will establish one of the leading financial institutions in Serbia, the press release says.
