Tender for construction of two large sections on Corridor Vc to open soon – Prenj Tunnel to be longest in the region at 10 km

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Autoceste FbiH have published the notice of the opening of the tender for the construction of the sections Ovcari-Prenj Tunnel-Mostar North (35 km) and Mostar North-Mostar South (15 km), initiating the procedure of the selection of the contractor.

The procurement procedure will be carried out under the principles of the Yellow FIDIC, with elements of the Green FIDIC, so that, in the final price of the construction, the investor's risk would be reduced to a minimum.

A total of 10 bridges, 12 tunnels and two interchanges are to be built on the entire section between Ovcar and the Mostar South interchange.

The most complex part is the Prenj Tunnel. According to the preliminary design, it should be 10.165 km long, making it the longest tunnel in the region.

Through the cooperation with financial institutions, the PE Autoceste FbiH has secured the offer for joint financing of the Ovcari-Prenj Tunnel-Mostar North section by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the amount of EUR 600 million. This financial arrangement opens the possibility of application for EU grants of up to EUR 120 million.

Also, the public company secured the offer for joint financing for the Mostar North-Mostar South section by local banks and the EBRD in the total amount of EUR 240 million, which opens the possibility of application for EU grants of up to EUR 12 million.
