Investment of 1.5m EUR in furniture factory "Jela"
- Furniture factory "Jela" in Jagodina invested 1.5m EUR this year in two new automatic production lines, the first of which was installed 20 days ago, while the second will be installed in January 2010 - said Nikola Radovanović, a representative of that company.
Radovanović said that the technology in the company was renewed every two or three years and that the production line that would be put in operation in January would be the longest - 50 meters long - and that the complete production process would require minimum number of workers, which would give "Jela" the advantage in the market.
The factory has the traditon 35 years long, and it became famous in the market for kids' furniture "Kiki". Over the last few years, the company has started producing furniture for living rooms and bedrooms. According to the words of Radovanović, the furniture they produce is in demand in whole Serbia, as well as in the countries of former SFRY, so that the crisis is not affecting the company much.
- "Jela" does not own retail stores. It exclusively produces furniture to the order of furniture showrooms. Export of products to some new markets is in the pipeline. Certain contacts have already been established with Bahrain and the representatives of Russia, and some Western European countries have expressed interest as well - said he.
"Jela" is recognizable by the original design of furniture, which is made of plywood that is imported from Austria, Italy, Germany and Turkey. Radovanović points out that "Jela" also made a computer 3D program, thanks to which the customers can see how some piece of furniture would fit into their housing space.
