Furniture manufacturers from Serbia at Cologne fair

Three flat furniture manufacturers from Serbia will take part at the IMM show in Cologne, to be held between January 13 and 19.

These are Jela Jagodina, Forma Ideale and Matis Grupa, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia announced on Friday, January 10.

IMM gathers around 1,200 exhibitors and 150,000 visitors each year.

The owner of Jela Jagodina and the vice president of the Group of Flat Furniture Manufacturers at the CCIS, Miroljub Radovanovic, said that he expected the exports, which make up 60% of the total sales of the companies exhibiting at the fair, and the number of business partners to increase.

According to the CCIS data, in the first ten months of 2019, the export of furniture from Serbia amounted to USD 225 million, whereas the import amounted to USD 62 million.

In the furniture industry, 57% of the employees, amounting to around 12,600 people, are employed in the wood industry.
