Refurbished bed factory "Simpo" opened in Trgovište - furniture for Swedish Ikea
The Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and the Minister of Economy, Mlađan Dinkić, ceremoniously put "Simpo's" modernized and reconstructed factory of beds for children in Radovnica near Trgovište in operation today.
Thanks to the funds provided by the Development Fund, over 5,600 square meters have been reconstructed and another 1,400 square meters have been built.
Dinkić said that the fact that the beds for children that would be manufactured in Radovnica would be intended for export for the needs of Swedish market chain "Ikea" was exceptionally important.
After reconstruction and expansion, the factory has tripled the capacity, and now the monthly production amounts to 90,000 beds.
The Director General of "Simpo", Slađan Disić, said that "Simpo" had obtained 2.5m EUR from the Development Fund for reconstruction of that factory, and that it had set aside another 0.5m EUR from its own funds in order for the factory in Radovnica to be fully reconstructed and modernized.
- The beds in Radovnica are now produced according to the latest technology because we have invested 1.8m EUR in procurement of new equipment and machines from 12 French and Italian companies - said Dinkić.
