Future Belgrade's port in Krnjača ?
The General Plan of Belgrade prior to 2021 anticipates relocation of the port and industrial units from the city center. Two years ago, Austrian company "Tina" got the job on an international tender to elaborate justification study and general project for construction of new port in Belgrade. Although there were two possible locations for the port - on the left bank of the Danube near Krnjača and on the right side of the river in the vicinity of settlement Vinča - this specialized center for planning transportation infrastructure suggested that the new mechanized freight pier should be built in the zone of Krnjača.
According to the words of Nenad Bajić from the Directorate for City Building Land, "Tina" finished the justification study in April 2008, while the project was forwarded to the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning in October 2008 for audit.
