Agro Belgrade 2020 begins – First specialized fair of fruit and vegetable farming and viticulture

Agro Belgrade 2020, the first specialized fair of fruit and vegetable farming and viticulture, opened today, January 30, and will close on February 1. The event is held at the Belgrade Fair, each day between 10 am and 5 pm.

This fair and conference event is the leading event of its kind in the Western Balkans and Southeast Europe and is a place of gathering of the world's largest buyers of fruit and vegetables, local producers, cooperatives, producers of equipment and mechanization, producers of seed materials and feed and protection products, as well as inputs for agricultural production, and other experts from the field. It is also an exhibit of the most modern machines for the production, processing and packing of fruit and vegetables.

The exhibit part is reserved for over 500 exhibitors, including the world's largest companies, whereas the conference programs and round tables will deal with the current challenges, new production trends, technical and digital achievements in the agrarian sector, packaging, the manner of distribution in the markets of Europe, Asia and America, organic production and other important topics.

Twelve conferences will be held over the three days, and some of the topics are: Exporting Perspectives – Serbia's Position in the World Market, Finance and Development of Agriculture, Inspection – Food Safety and Exporting Procedures, Perspectives of Organic Production, Systems of Association for the Purpose of Export, Development of Labor Force in Agriculture, Indigenous Grape Varieties, Berries – Exporting Perspectives, Advanced Agricultural Production and Technology, Agri-technologies, Plant Protection, Plant Feeding and Cooperatives.

The main partners of Agro Belgrade 2020 are the City of Belgrade – Secretariat for Economy and the USAID Competitive Economy Project, which are helping the Serbian public and international purchasers to notice the potential of production in this industry and the need to integrate in the local and the international market and to position Agro Belgrade as the leading show of its kind in this part of Europe.
