Italian Progetti to build industrial complex in Sombor – Five footwear production facilities planned

The Italian company Progetti, which produces footwear, is to build an industrial complex in the Industrial Zone in Sombor.

On an area of 64,284 m2, in the northwestern part of the industrial zone, they will raise a management building, five footwear production facilities, a storage facility, an auditorium, a kindergarten for the employees' children, a business apartment building and two guardhouses.

The project entails the construction of the industrial complex in phases, with seven structures in a row – a round line, connected by an overhead round corridor, and four side facilities.

According to the project, production and storage facilities should be located next to the management building, which will also include a development center.

Let us remind that the Italian company bought three parcels in the Industrial Zone in Sombor in August 2019. As the city authorities announced at the time, the company planned to build new facilities for the production of footwear and footwear components in the location.

Progetti was founded in 2001 at the initiative of brothers Romano and Enrico Rossi. The company's core activity is the processing of semi-products (upper components) and finished footwear for the largest fashion brands, such as Gucci and Prada.

Prada footwear is already produced in Serbia, in the amount of around 75,000 pairs a year, in the factory in Vrsac, from where shoes are distributed worldwide with a “Made in Serbia” label.

Progetti currently employs around 1,000 people in its facilities in Sombor, Vrsac and Vladimirci.
