"Galenika" makes Cuban preparations?
- "Galenika" will soon start production of Cuban preparations for the market of Western Balkans - B92 learns from unofficial sources.
The Director General of "Galenika", Nenad Ognjenović, and the Ambassador of Cuba, Mercedes Martinez Valdes, talked about realization of already agreed cooperation between that company and Cuban pharmaceutical institutes.
During the visit of the delegation of "Galenika"
to Cuban institutes, in September 2009, the agreement was made that the biggest Serbian pharmaceutical company gets the exclusive right to produce Cuban preparations and pharmaceutical products made in Cuban institutes.
On that occasion, the Non-disclosure Agreement and the Memorandum of Understanding were signed with the best Cuban pharmaceutical institute "Herberbiotec", and the Draft License Contract was made with institute "Damler", which gives the exclusive right to "Galenika" to produce several preparations for the territory of western Balkans.
This contract is being examined by the representatives of "Damler" at the moment, and it is expected to be signed by both sides already after the New Year holidays in order for the production of preparations to start as soon as possible.
Although it is a business secret that both sides promised to keep when they signed the Non-disclosure Agreement, B92 learns that it is the latest generation of preparations for the people who suffer from diabetes and that they are already in use in the market of South America and proved to be very successful so far.
Ambassador Martinez Valdes said that the experts from both teams were currently working on the agreements related to joint production, export and licensed production of some of the most famous Cuban preparations. She was also unwilling to reveal the purpose of the preparations.
- The most important thing at the moment is that we finalize the agreement as soon as possible in order for our products, which are already tested and guarantee top quality, to appear in Serbian market in the near future because, besides commercial significance, these preparations will be of importance to the improvement of the life quality and health of people in Serbia - said Ambassador Martinez Valdes.
