Government adopts National Plan for Reduction of Air Pollution – Here are the power facilities to be modernized

The Government of Serbia has adopted the National Plan for reduction of emissions of the main polluting matters produced by large old combustion-based facilities, to the end of reducing the air pollution.

As said in the document, which was published in the Official Gazette, the plan pertains to the reconstruction and modernization of the facilities whose total installed input heating power is equivalent to 50 MW or more and which own an exploitation permit issued before July 1, 1992, or a building permit, or those which were commissioned before July 1, 1992.

The facilities include the Thermal Power Plant Nikola Tesla A (A1-A3, A4-A6) and B (B1-B2), the Thermal Power Plant Kostolac A1, A2 and B1-B2, the Thermal Power and Heating Plant Novi Sad, the Heating Plant Vreoci Kolubara Prerada, NIS a.d. Energana Novi Sad, NIS a.d. Atmosferska Destilacija II and NIS a.d. Energana Pancevo.

The works include the desulfuring of smoke gases at some facilities, the reduction of nitrogen oxides at others and the reconstruction of electrofilterning facilities where needed.
