The Russian company Infrastructure Development and Construction (IDC), registered in Belgrade, which was the main contractor on the project of the construction of the Serbian section of the TurkStream gas pipeline, will also be a subcontractor for a part of the Bulgarian section of this gas pipeline, Politika learns.

The permit for the construction of the gas pipeline from Bulgaria to Serbia was awarded to the Saudi consortium Arkad. The SeeNews portal reminds that Bulgartransgaz has signed an agreement worth EUR 1.1 billion with Arkad.

IDC will build over 100 km of gas pipelines through Bulgaria, from the Serbian border, as one of the subcontractors. The mechanization used in Serbia will be included in the project, as will be workers who built TurkStream through Serbia, who have experience with projects of this size.

They will prepare the ground, lay down and weld the pipes, providing the full service, the same source says, Politika reports.

The works should start in March.
