Government of Serbia made decision to turn 42% of capital of Novi Sad Fair into national ownership
The Director General of the Novi Sad Fair, Goran Vasić, announced today (December 14, 2009) that the decision had been made at the meeting of the Government of Republic of Serbia on Thursday, December 10th, that 42% of public capital of the Novi Sad Fair be turned into national ownership.
He pointed out that the state would have majority ownership in that way because 22% of the capital owned by the City of Novi Sad had been added to the state-owned package of stocks. In the ownership structure of the Novi Sad Fair, as Vasić explained, 24% of capital is owned by companies, while 11% is in the possession of minor stockholders.
- Just like German and Austrian trade fairs, the Novi Sad Fair is owned by both state and private sector, which we see as the best model for such companies. That means that the state, the region and the city support our activities, while private companies exert positive pressure on us to do everything transparently and in accordance with legal norms, while respecting the logic of profit - Vasić concluded.
