Company "Sirogojno" exported sweaters worth 500,000 EUR

Company "Sirogojno" exported sweaters and other hand-made wool clothing worth about 0.5m EUR in 2009.

Hand-made sweaters from Sirogojno are made of Icelandic wool and they affirm the region of Zlatibor worldwide. This year they were offered to the markets in Japan, USA, Sweden, Norway, France and other countries of the world - said Rade Ljubojević, the CEO of the company, and added that the export price of sweaters ranges between 120 and 150 EUR.

- The tradition of making sweaters for the market is six decades old and it always brings significant income to households in the region of Zlatibor - said Ljubojević.

He pointed out with regret that only about 500 weavers were in that business at the moment, and he added that Sirogojno had failed to protect its trademark before the flood of "plagiators and imitators" whose products can be found at the markets around our country.
