The Municipality of Istocna Ilidza has adopted a decision on the allocation of 5.5 acres of building land in Pavlovac for the construction of the first station of the gondola system.

The decision on the sale of 12 acres of land in the Pavlovac location through an auction has not been adopted, the Municipality of Istocna Ilidza announced.

According to the preliminary design from 2017, prepared by the design and construction company Marvel from East Sarajevo, the Sarajevo-Jahorina gondola covers a route of around 13 kilometers. The planned first station is Pavlovac, only 4 kilometers away from the Sarajevo Airport.

Three stops are planned along the way – Krsava, Pavlovac 1 and Mala Dvorista, and the terminus is Jahorina. The gondola should be able to transport 2,000 passengers an hour.

– The gondola's modern cabins will provide a view to East Sarajevo and Sarajevo, as well as the intact nature of the surrounding mountain areas – the design reads.
