– Last week, a range of preventive hygienic-safety measures were taken so that the potential spreading of the virus among the guests and the employees at Merkur would be prevented. The guests' stay complies with the Instructions on preventive Measures Regarding COVID-19, adopted on March 13, 2020, which is in line with the procedures of the Regional Center for Disease Control – the Merkur hospital announced.
The management of Merkur took part in the activities during the extraordinary meeting of the hotel managers of Vrnjacka Banja, the purpose of which was for the level of risk to be estimated and for adequate crisis measures to be proposed on the destination level.
The conclusion was that tourism was the industry most affected by the crisis, especially Vrnjacka Banja as the destination with the largest number of hotels in Serbia. The hotel owners considered a set of urgent support measures, aiming to maintain the number of employees at the hotels during the crisis period.
The official information is that no cases of coronavirus have yet been diagnosed in Vrnjacka Banja, the hospital says in its press release.
