Although the initial decision was for the operations of the Valjevo factory to be suspended until April 6, the re-initiation of the production has been postponed by another week, all to the end of protecting the employees' health and safety as much as possible.
Gorenje says that strict preventive measures are implemented at the factory since the outbreak, such as taking body temperature, wearing protective masks and gloves and daily disinfection. They add that the implementation of these measures will continue even with the re-starting of the production at the factory.
The company's management, the trade union and the employees' council have agreed for the work days to be compensated for with last year's leftover free days or previously worked hours, the company says in a press release.
The employees without leftover free days or previously worked hours will be on a forced leave and be paid 70% of the total earnings. The forced leave will also be activated for the employees who need to look after children under 12 and whose return to the workplace was planned after the expiration of the state of emergency.
