“Electronic Green Market of Serbia” by the End of the Week

Serbian Agriculture Minister Branislav Nedimovic says for RTS that a team of experts will try to put an “electronic green market of Serbia” into operation by the end of the week, that is, a system which will connect stores, shoppers and those who are ready to deliver the goods which are currently unavailable as the green markets are closed due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Branislav Nedimovic said that an electronic market for the whole Serbia was being prepared, where vegetable and fruit farmers will be able to offer what's on the market.

– We will connect those who want to buy, those who want to sell, but also those who will deliver those goods from point A to point B – Nedimovic said.

He notes that the movement of goods is not banned.

– If a producer has something to offer, they can register it electronically. On the other hand, there's the demand. We have an additional category, which are people ready to transport all this. We also have a lot of storage facilities with empty space – Nedimovic points out.

He announces that the electronic market will be fully operational by the end of the week.

– It will be a basic version and lots of IT experts are working on it. It's nothing new, such platforms already exist – the minister notes.
