Tax Administration collects drainage fees
The Tax Administration of Serbia announced today (January 4, 2010) that it had taken over the obligation to determine the fees for drainage, irrigation and use of hydraulic facilities, as well as to collect those public incomes.
According to the announcement, the Tax Administration has signed the contracts with public companies "Srbija vode", "Beograd vode" and "Vojvodina vode" to deliver the bills to the payers on their behalf.
The Tax Administration pointed out that it would monitor the voluntary fulfillment of that obligation and take necessary measures if debtors failed to pay the fees on time.
At the end of the last year, farmers in Serbia got confused when they started receiving the decisions from the Tax Administration that they need to pay the fees for drainage for year 2008 and 2009 within 15 days.
These drainage fees are paid by all users and owners of agriculture, building and forest land.
