Kragujevac's "WW Energy" plans construction of two hydroelectric power stations on the Bistrica river near Nova Varoš - investment worth about 4m EUR
- Company "WW Energy" from Kragujevac may start construction of two small hydroelectric power stations on the Bistrica river in the municipality of Nova Varoš at the end of March is it receives permit for the location - people from the company announced on Friday (January 8, 2010).
- Hydroelectric power stations "Crkvina" and "Rečica", of which locations are determined by the Cadastre of small hydroelectric power stations of Serbia, will be producing about 14m kWh of electric energy per year, which is enough for average consumption of about 2,500 households - Bojan Milovanović, a representative of "WW Energy", said to the press.
According to the estimates, as he said, construction of these two mini hydroelectric power plants would cost about 4m EUR.
Milovanović said that the works on construction of those power stations would last about 6 months and, if everything went as planned, the first kilowatts of electricity should be produced in them already at the end of November 2010.
Mini power stations on the Bistrica, and there are another four potential locations in the Cadastre of small hydroelectric power plants, are interesting to the investors because the power plants in these locations would pay off in 12 years, which is in accordance with the regulations in that domain.
The spring of the Bistrica river is at 1,625 meters above the sea level, on Zlatar mountain, and its lowest point is at 440 meters, at the place where it flows into the Lim river.
