Promotion of domestic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), produced in Belgrade-based Military-Technical Institute, in spring
- The Minister of Defense in the Government of Republic of Serbia, Dragan Šutanovac, announced that that Ministry would promote the new product in spring - the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which is manufactured in Belgrade-based Military-Technical Institute - it is stated on the website of the Government of Serbia.
Šutanovac has expressed belief that this product will raise the reputation of Serbian system of defense in the world even more.
He announced that the Minister of Defense of Montenegro, Boro Vučinić, would visit Serbia on January 18th and added that the flight simulator that the Army of Serbia had obtained from the Government of Montenegro would be put in operation on that occasion.
The Minister said that Serbia did not have to become member of NATO in order to become member of European Union, but that the partnership with the Alliance represented natural course of things in Europe.
He pointed out that the question of Serbia's admission into NATO was not only of political, but also of economic nature. He also said that our country, that is, the Army, should first use all the advantages of the Peace Partnership.
- It is true that Serbia is not conditioned to enter NATO in order to become a member of EU, but it is also true that, if we want to establish European system of values, introduction of Euro-Atlantic security system was necessary - said Šutanovac.
He pointed out that Serbia was, at the moment, member of the Peace Partnership, just like Ireland, Austria, Finland, Sweden, and that all those countries had the developed armies although they were not members of NATO. He also added that the membership in NATO was not necessary for Serbia, while the membership in the Peace Partnership definitely was.
