– The appeal of the Western Balkans Chamber Investment Forum made in the letter the president of the CCIS, Marko Cadez, sent to president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the European commissioners for trade and enlargement, Phil Hogan and Oliver Varhelyi, for the Western Balkans to be exempt from the process of previous authorization and for the export of medical equipment from the EU to the region to be facilitated, has thereby been accepted – the press release says.
Foreign ministers from the region made the same appeal to the European Union in April, and the initiative was also supported by the members of the influential Foreign Trade Board and other members of the European Parliament, who asked for an urgent passing of the decision on the exemption of the region from the previous authorization process.
