Export worth 50m EUR - record production in Užice-based company "Prvi partizan"
In the year of the economic crisis and big tragedy in which seven workers were killed when powder exploded on September 3rd, Užice-based ammunition factory "Prvi partizan" registered record production.
- The volume of production was increased by 10%, the financial plan was exceeded by 20% against year 2008, and 95% of production worth 50m EUR was exported - said Dobrosav Andrić, the CEO of the factory that produces shooting, hunting and sports ammunition.
He estimated that the factory had not felt the consequences of the economic crisis in 2009, but that it had been "wounded" by the loss of human lives and the break of several months in the work of the underground facility in which the disaster had taken place. The average net salary of 615 permanently employed workers in 2009 amounted to 41,000 RSD.
The contracts have already been signed for export of products in 2010. The buyers include the partners from the USA, where 20m USD worth of ammunition was exported last year.
