Capacities of River Ports in Serbia to Expand – Designers for Bogojevo and Prahovo Selected

After the carried out tendering procedure, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia signed contracts with the designers for the preparation of the technical documentation for the expansion of the capacities of the ports of Bogojevo and Prahovo.

The value of the procurement for the Port of Bogojevo is RSD 77,976,000, and the job has been entrusted to a group of bidders, consisting of Belgrade-based companies Ehting, Trioprojekt, Utving VS, Geo-Test, Geosystem, Midvej, Termoenergo inzenjering, Goran Jovanovski PR Rsigns and Demetra.

According to the tender, the technical documentation should plan an expansion of the capacities of the Port of Bogojevo, and the additional capacities, as well as the expansion of the kinds of port services offered, should enable the reloading and storage of at least 600,000 tons of various kinds of agricultural products, whereby the port will meet the conditions for being included in the CORE TEN-T network of river ports.

The expansion of the capacities of the Port of Bogojevo through the construction of a port logistics center, that is, storage facilities for bulk cargo (gravel and sand) and general goods, new silos for grains, mineral fertilizers and oil plants, as well as the accompanying infrastructure, entailing a rail track of 2.5 km and its connecting with the national rail network, the construction of another vertical wharf, should enable the valorization of the port's favorable geographic position, primarily through its specialization for the reloading and storage of grains, oil plants and mineral fertilizers. The value of the service of the preparation of the technical documentation for the Port of Prahovo is 29,976,000, and it was awarded to a group of bidders consisting of Belgrade-based companies Exting, Trioprojekt, Utving VS, Geo-Test, Geosystem, Midvej, Termoenergo inzenjering, Goran Jovanovski PR Rsigns and Demetra, as well as the Institute for Mining and Metallurgy of Bor.

The preparation of the technical documentation for the Port of Prahovo, as said in the tender, entails an expansion of the capacities, and the construction of the so-called green terminal, the first of its kind in Serbia. The additional capacities of the Port of Prahovo should enable the reloading and storage of at least 2,000,000 tons of various kinds of bulk and general cargo, whereby the port will meet the requirements for inclusion in the CORE TEN-T network of river ports.
