Agreement Worth EUR 158 Million on Construction of High Speed Route That Will Connect Valjevo with Milos Veliki Highway Signed – Works to Start on June 17

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic has signed a commercial contract worth EUR 158 million on designing and building a high-speed route from Iverak to Lajkovac and the regulation of the Kolubara river with the director of the PE Roads of Serbia, Zoran Drobnjak, and the director of China Shandong in Belgrade, Zhang Jianchao. The signing of the commercial contract was attended by the Ambassador of China to Belgrade, Chen Bo.

With the construction of this traffic route, Valjevo and its area will be directly connected with the Milos Veliki highway. The total length of the route is 18.3 km, and the works are to begin on June 17. There will be 25 structures on the route, 2.5 kilometers of bridges and one interchange.


The project is financed by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the investor is the PE Roads of Serbia, and the works are to be carried out by China Shandong, in line with the state agreement between Serbia and China, the ministry says on its website.

The Iverak-Lajkovac high-speed route is a lateral connection within the road network of Serbia and will connect parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Milos Veliki highway and Corridor 10. It is designed for a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
