The vaccine is currently being tested clinically on volunteers, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, as reported by TASS. In May, the Gamaleya Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology announced that it had developed a coronavirus vaccine.
The vaccine, according to the director of the institute, Alexander Gintsburg, has no side-effects. The researchers at the institute first tested the vaccine on animals, and then on themselves, Gintsburg said. The vaccine is currently being tested by the Russian army on 50 soldiers-volunteers at a military research center in the Moscow region. The testing should be completed by the end of July.
