The new lifting of measures does not pertain to the states of the Western Balkans, whose citizens still must go into quarantine upon entering or returning to Austria.
In early June, Austria opened its borders to seven neighboring countries, and now they are open for Italy as well.
Citizens from the following countries are no longer subject to quarantine: Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Switzerland, Cyprus, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican.
The two-week quarantine or PCR test are still in force for those returning to Austria from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Moldova, Belarus, Russia and Turkey.
Travel warnings are still in effect for 21 countries. In Europe, they pertain to Great Britain, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Spain, as well as Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus and the Italian region of Lombardy.
Outside of Europe, citizens of Austria are warned when traveling to Brazil, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, Senegal, South Africa and the U.S.A.
