Nis Airport to Get New Terminal on 7,160 m2 by 2022 – Preliminary Design Presented

Preparatory works for the construction of a new terminal are in progress at the Constantine the Great Airport in Nis. According to the announcements made by the director of the PE Aerodromi Srbije, Mihajlo Zdravkovic, the construction will be completed by the end of 2022. Presenting the preliminary design, Zdravkovic pointed out that the plan was to raise a new building of 7,160 m2 and adapt the existing one of 2,100 m2.

The plan is for the project-technical documentation to be completed, along with all the permits, by the end of 2020.

The project of the repair of the structure of the runway, the construction of the terminal and the expansion of the platform, with the construction of a taxiway, at the Constantine the Great Airport in Nis has been recognized as a project of special importance for the Republic of Serbia, the PE Aerodromi Srbije announced.



– At the proposition of the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, the decision was made that the Constantine the Great Airport is of special importance for the Republic of Serbia. This entails the acceleration of all the procedures of obtaining the permits and an unobstructed financing of the whole project. The works on developing the land are to finish soon and the procedure of the development of the construction project is to follow. We expect the new terminal building with the accompanying taxiways and a platform to be completed by 2022 – Zdravkovic said.

Let us remind that, in early 2020, Aerodromi Srbije opened a tendering procedure inviting designers for the expansion of the passenger terminal of the Constantine the Great Airport in Nis, and the job was entrusted to a group of bidders, consisting of Bauprojekt, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute in Belgrade, IMP Automatika and Delta Inzenjering. The agreement is worth RSD 14.38 million.
