Pro-mes opened meat-processing unit in Novi Bečej
- Pro-mes opened a state-of-the-arts unit in Novi Bečej on Friday (February 5, 2010). The new unit will be annually processing about four tons of meat - it is stated on the website of the Executive Council of Vojvodina.
The company's Manager Predrag Bojović said that the projected incomes amounted to about 350m RSD.
Bojović said that 25 new workers had been employed in the unit, so that Pro-mes had 100 workers at the moment.
- Our ambitions are big because we produce top-quality meat products, which we plan to start exporting to European and regional markets soon - said he.
The Prime Minister of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, said that the Provincial Government had invested 23m RSD in that unit and announced that the Government would keep investing in similar units in the future.
He explained that every employer who received the funds from the Government was obliged to employ minimum 20 new workers.
The Provincial Secretary of Science and Technological Development, Dragoslav Petrović, said that total of 68 units had been opened to the date with the help of the Government of Vojvodina and announced that about 20 such units would be opened in 2010 as well.
He specified that 5m EUR had been set aside in the budget for that purpose and added that the priority would be given to those investors who were going to export their products to the market of European Union, create sufficient number of new jobs and focus on renewable energy sources.
The meat-processing unit has a modern equipment for production of meat products, as well as chambers and refrigerators for ripening and preservation of meat products.
