The City has published an public review study of the Detailed Regulation Plan design of the quarry. The main contractor is Preduzece za Puteve Kragujevac d.o.o and the developer is the Arhiplan d.o.o from Arandjelovac.
The study classifies the project as the exploitation of marble as technical-construction rock on the area of 20.16 ha.
The area planned for marble mining is mostly forest soil and the climate is favourable for mining works.
It is pointed out that the study was preceded by detailed geological explorations of the area, the resource and marble reserves in order to have a complete production process and secure their own raw materials base.
– The marble exploitation will include all normal operations for this type of mineral raw material such as breaking the rock with mines, loading and transporting the material, crushing the rock and classification, the documentation says.
The planned period for marble exploitation is around ten years after which the soil would be recultivated.
The plan also includes the reconstruction of the existing municipality motorway to serve the needs of the future work of the quarry.
The study will be up for public review until July 2,2020.
