Another EUR 9.5 Million Provided to STP Novi Sad – Facility to be Completed in Eight Months

An agreement for the completion of the second phase of the works on the Science-Technology Park, worth EUR 9.5 million, has been signed in Novi Sad.

– In eight months, we will completely finish the Science-Technology Park and it will be a great development opportunity for the most modern information technologies, for development centers of local and foreign companies, startups and scientific institutes – said the president of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirovic, as announced on the website of the Provincial Government.

The Government of Serbia set aside EUR 4 million for the completion of phases II/2 and II/2a, whereas the rest was provided from the loan of the European Investment Bank. The agreement covers construction and finishing works with the aim of putting a part of the rest of the STP facility, of 16,000 m2, into operation.

– I am satisfied, because we managed to complete the first phase within the deadline. It has been in function since the beginning of the year and is meant for the Faculty of Technical Sciences, for whose equipping the Provincial Government set aside RSD 70 million – Mirovic said.

The Head of the EIB Regional Representation for the Western Balkans, Dubravka Negre, said that this was a stimulus for entrepreneurship, “because the Science-Technology Park will be a breeding ground for ideas and a beacon of the development of the Serbian economy”.

The Science-Technology Park, a smart and green building, is a joint project of the Government of Serbia and the Provincial Government, of great importance primarily in the domain of connecting the science and the economy.
