Magneti Marelli most probably gave up partnership with Zastava Trucks - Iveco is still thinking

- Italian manufacturer Magneti Mareli has, most probably, given up, while people in Iveco are still considering the strategic partnership with Zastava Trucks - people from that Kragujevac's factory told Beta agency.

The CEO of Zastava Trucks, Đorđe Nestorović, told Beta agency that the application of the Memorandum of Understanding, which had been signed with those companies and should be in effect prior to end of March 2010, was under question mark.

- We expect the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development to make the decision prior to Sunday on the status of the Memorandum, its application and possible new round of search for strategic partner - said Nestorović.

He said that such possibility had already been mentioned in the talks with the Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Mlađan Dinkić, in early 2010.

According to Nestorović, people in the factory hope to find the appropriate partner even if it is not a truck manufacturer.
