From July 2020, SAP has launched a refreshed organizational structure to reach a strong and unified presence in Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova and Montenegro.

While Gregor Potočar, who continues to lead SAP Slovenia, has been promoted to the regional position of Chief Operating Officer for South-East Europe, Josephin Galla is taking as the Managing Director for the newly evolved cluster countries.

Moving from Hanoi, Vietnam, she will be based in Bucharest, Romania. The management team will be responsible for the implementation of the new regional strategy and the successful operation of the 12 countries, contributed by a total number of 1,935 employees.

With more than a decade in the technology sector, Ms. Josephin Galla brings expertise in industries like Public Services, Mining and ENR. Before accepting her new role, Josephin Galla was the Managing Director of SAP Vietnam and a member of the Senior Executive Team for SAP South East Asia.

She dedicated her career to grow SAP’s business across Europe, Asia and North America, in various sales and leadership roles. She led a high performing team of public sector industry value advisors across South East Asia, helping governments to improve their business processes and digitally transform, driving World Bank projects, building relationships with the German diplomatic corps and leaders in government – connecting industry with government and academia.

Born in Berlin, Germany, she holds a Diploma in International Economics from the International Business School Berlin and a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Sunderland

Gregor Potočar took over the leadership of SAP Slovenia four years ago. While staying in the role of Managing Director of SAP Slovenia, from now he will work as Chief Operating Officer in the South-East Europe countries and closely cooperate with Josephin Galla.

– I am confident that Josephin’s extensive international experience gathered across 3 continents, strong leadership skills and vital character, combined with Gregor’s local expertise and knowledge will lead us to a new chapter in the region which is full of potential for further development – said Tom Kindermans, Managing Director of SAP Central and Eastern Europe, welcoming the new leaders.

– I am very much looking forward taking on this exciting challenge. South-East Europe is such a diverse region that yields great potential for synergies as well as the establishment of the unique positioning of every single one of these beautiful countries in the region. Right now, we are working closely to ensure that we have a common vision, mission and strategy that will ensure our readiness for the post Covid-19 era as well as the next five years. We truly believe that our business strategy will be guided by the talent in our organization and how the market perceives us. We need a paradigm and mindset shift to establish our region as the next powerhouse after Asia – added Josephin Galla.

– The new business organization at the global level represents the continuation of the planned transformation, which is more focused on our customers. At the same time, it represents an opportunity for the local market to connect communication channels, product strategies and integrate our service portfolio. With this, we return to our basic mission - to help the business run better. I also see this as an opportunity for growth – Potočar emphasized.

– The basis for further development in the region will be the SAP cloud portfolio. Meanwhile strategic product areas will include user experience management, good human resources management, intelligent financial management, strategic procurement and advanced analytics. This will be especially crucial for companies at a time when we are facing the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic – he added.
