Private Labs to Start Doing Quick Coronavirus Tests

Laboratories of private health institutions will start testing citizens for coronavirus as soon as possible, thereby at least somewhat unloading the capacities of the state institutions, since the capacities for scheduled tests at some of them are filled out for the whole current month, even when it comes to testing per personal request, that is, the testing that the citizens pay for themselves.

As the Association of Serbian Private Health Providers told Politika, in the past two days, agreements about serology testing (the so-called quick tests) were finalized, after the association was notified that, according to the decision of the Government of Serbia, private health institutions had been authorized to buy quick serology and chemiluminescence tests from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

– We expect private labs, those interested in providing this service, to pick up the tests and start testing for antibodies within the next 48 hours – says the secretariat of the association which brings together the largest private hospitals and biochemical laboratories.
