New fish processing unit opened in Apatin-based LBB Frigo - investment worth 1.73m EUR
LBB Frigo in Apatin put in operation on Friday (February 26, 2010) a new fish processing unit worth about 173m RSD, over 16m of which were provided by the Government of Vojvodina through the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development.
LBB Frigo's fish processing unit occupies about 1,000 square meters and it is equipped with the state-of-the-arts technology for processing fish and fruits of the sea and producing fish products according to the latest technology, packaging line and chambers for keeping products. The capacity of the unit is 1,500 tons of fish per year. The products will be offered for domestic market, as well as to the markets of Russia, Italy and regional countries. Projected annual income amounts to 3m EUR.
- Co-funding of construction of the unit according to the latest technologies is one of the most successful programs of the Provincial Government, which gives exceptional results when it comes to development of our economy, strengthening of its competitiveness and creation of new jobs. Over the last 3.5 years we have employed nearly 18,500 people in that way. LBB Frigo is our 69th implemented program and 36 people will be employed in the unit, either directly or indirectly - Dr. Bojan Pajtić said after he toured the unit.
The Prime Minister of the Government of Vojvodina pointed to significance of this modern factory, which was built in accordance with the highest European and world standards, because it will be mainly producing the goods for export.
