Project of Construction of International Terminal in Banostor a Step Closer to Realization – Designation of Parcels for Future Port in Progress

The Municipality of Beocin has not given up on the project of construction of an international passenger terminal in Banostor. As the president of the municipality, Mitar Milinkovic, told eKapija, the detailed regulation plan for this project, which has been planned for several years, has been adopted.

– At the session of May 21, 2020, the Assembly of the Municipality of Beocin adopted the detailed regulation plan of the passenger terminal open to international traffic in Banostor. As part of the consultations with representatives of the Port Governance Agency, activities are currently being taken toward realizing the procedure of designating the parcels for the port/terminal area – Milinkovic says.

During 2019, the preliminary feasibility study with the general project was submitted to the Review Commission of the Secretariat for Energy, Construction and Transport, which carried out the expert control procedure and prepared a report on it.

– Thanks to the favorable tourist-geographic position, geomorphological and climate aspects, the Danube and the good traffic connection with Novi Sad and other populated places in the area, Banostor is very attractive for tourist visits and can be a destination for single-day field trips and tourist stays over a period of several days – the draft plan reads.
