Cuba to require mandatory travel insurance for visitors starting May 1st
Cuban Government announced that, starting May 1st, all visitors to Cuba would have to have travel insurance with medical coverage. The foreigners who have, so far, travelled to Cuba were not obliged to have that insurance, but, from now on, nobody will be able to enter the country without it.
The insurance will be available for purchase all around the world, but exclusively in the insurance companies recognized by the Cuban Government. Also, tourists will be able to purchase it upon landing at the airport in Havana. Diplomatic personnel and representatives of foreign organizations are exempt from mandatory insurance.
