Reum starts production of car parts in Svilajnac in August 2010
- German company Reum has resumed construction of the factory in Svilajnac and the production of car parts should start in August 2010 - Saša Vragolić, the CEO of Reum in Serbia, told eKapija.
The contractor is Belgrade-based company Expro/LSC.
As Vragolić explained, seventy workers are attending the training in Germany, while the machines from that country will arrive prior to August.
- People in the Svilajnac-based unit will be assembling car parts and the whole production will be delivered to Audi - said Vragolić and announced that creation of about 100 jobs was expected by the end of the year, while up to 300 jobs would be created prior to 2012.
The contract for construction of the car parts factory was signed between Reum and the municipality of Svilajnac on August 6th, 2008, while the foundation stone was laid on October 21st by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy and Regional Development of Serbia, Mlađan Dinkić, and the President of Reum, Rolf Riter.
According to that contract, the municipality gave five hectares of land with complete infrastructure for free, while Reum promised to invest 10m EUR, have the factory finished prior to March and employ 100 people by the end of 2009 and minimum 325 people prior to end of 2011.
