The projects for the Fruska Gora Corridor are almost done, and the construction might start in spring, the director of the PE Roads of Serbia, Zoran Drobnjak, said today.

Drobnjak said on TV Pink that the corridor entailed the construction of a bridge on the Danube and a tunnel of 3.5 kilometers beneath Fruska Gora and reminded that the price for 48 kilometers was EUR 606 million.

He also reminded that two tunnels of three kilometers each were being built on the section of the Milos Veliki highway, from Cacak to Pozega, which is a total of 12 kilometers of tunnels in four tubes, and that the works were being done by the Chinese company CRBC.

A bridge that will connect Preljina, which is as far as the highway goes now, with the section to Pozega, near Cacak on the West Morava, is to follow.

Drobnjak says that the project is very important, as it will help unload the traffic, given that 18,000 vehicles pass around the city each day.

He said that the tunnel near Zeleznik on the bypass route around Belgrade, built ten years before, had begun to leak and that new insulation was being set up.
