Igor Djordjevic, Sales Representative for Serbia at Ledvance – I believe that the lack of new construction projects will affect the flow of goods and services

When it comes to the lighting industry, Ledvance, the Serbian office of the eponymous international company, has become increasingly prominent in the regional market.

The company makes a considerable profit, and in addition to the standard program, it has also offered interesting solutions for disinfection of spaces and a UVC lamp line of products.

We talked to Igor Djordjevic, the Sales Representative of Ledvance in Serbia, about the state of the market, the plans and the challenges that await us in the next few years.

– Although seemingly young, Ledvance carries more than 100 years of tradition and experience of the famous company and brand OSRAM. Continuing the tradition of this brand in the program of luminaires, we are simultaneously developing a new brand, LEDVANCE, which belongs to the very top when it comes to the quality of lighting devices and solutions it offers to its clients in the world and here, locally – Djordjevic says.

He emphasizes that, in the past three years, Ledvance has realized a growth of sales of over 70%, it is increasingly present in various projects and it is increasing its presence in stores.

When asked which industries have the biggest need for Ledvance solutions, Djordjevic says that Ledvance is capable of meeting nearly all the demands defined within the projects:

– We have a considerable number of realizations in residential, industrial, commercial, health, hospitality and office facilities. We are also developing new generations of public lighting devices.

Healthy competition is stimulative, the problem lies in low-quality goods

As for the relation toward the competition, Djordjevic claims that healthy competition is stimulative, as it motivates one to be efficient. However, the problem is when the market is flooded by goods of very low quality, which are nevertheless marketed as quality goods.

– This kind of goods, unfortunately, is often falsely advertised as high-class goods. By the time the market recognizes this kind of offer as being problematic, another three have occurred. In contrast, we strengthen our position through proven quality. Around 95% of the products are available to clients within seven work days, which is a much shorter period than most other companies – eKapija's interviewee says.


Few new projects

These days, a large number of businesses is trying to face with the potential consequences of the Covid-crisis, to reorient or overcome the current and potential consequences.

– This year, even with the crisis, we've realized a remarkable result, because we recognized the projects that would be realized by the end of the year on time. We took part in the equipping of the Covid-hospital in Batajnica and several local hospitals in Serbia. I believe that problems can be expected only next year. The next year is often referred to as a year of recovery, but I disagree with that assessment. It's true that the buildings the construction of which had already started were finished this year, but there are few new ones, which will reflect on all the fields whose products and solutions take part in such projects – Djordjevic says.
