The agreement on the supervision over the project, signed on August 26, 2019, with Eptisa, is worth a total of EUR 675,100, whereas the agreement on the construction of the intermodal terminal (FIDIC Yellow Book – preparation of project documentation and execution of works) was signed on October 14, 2019, with Strabag and is worth a total of EUR 14,469,299.75.
– The construction of the intermodal terminal in Belgrade stimulated the development of modern combined transport by increasing the participation of rail transport and creating a partnership relation with road transport. This will make rail transport more competitive in the market, while following all the future tendencies in transport through the use of modern technologies – the ministry says on its website.
As announced earlier by the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency, the investor in the project, a total of three kilometers of routes and rail infrastructure will be built within the 10-ha complex. On an area of close to two hectares, a special container storage flat area will be built, around 5 hectares will be left for free areas and the development of a green area, and the project also envisages the construction of around 70 parking spaces.
The tender for the procurement of the accompanying equipment necessary for the functioning of the terminal will open during the construction of the intermodal terminal.
The plan is to also build a logistics center next to the terminal. All the logistics activities related to road and rail transport will be carried out there, namely, forwarding, transport and customs clearance, and the accompanying services of storage and maintenance will be available as well.
The deadline for the completion of the project is 30 months from the beginning of the works, including the additional 12 months for potential complaints about the executed works.
The laying of the foundation stone was attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Tomislav Momirovic and Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic.
Let us remind that the Port of Thessaloniki is also interested in building land container terminals, so-called “dry ports” in Serbia.
