Stara Pazova may soon become the sports center of Serbia. In addition to the national house of football, of which construction is in its late phase, this municipality now wants to have a racing track built by the standards of Formula 1 and, thus, attract the most famous people from the world of car and motorcycle racing. Its partner Stefan-GP, the corporation that tried to enter the world's fastest circus this year with its own racing car, is ready to invest 20m EUR in the whole project. The future Formula 1 track would be, most probably situated alongside Stara Pazova - Golubinci road.

- We offer the investor certainly the most favorable conditions when it comes to location, with maximally quick issuing of all necessary building permits, the responsibility for which rests on the local self-government - says Mayor Goran Jović who believes that the construction works will start very soon.

- One such sport facility would mean a lot for the promotion of Serbia and the municipality of Stara Pazova, not only in Europe, but also around the world.

The project for construction of the race track by the Formula 1 standards in Stara Pazova will be presented on Thursday. As Novosti learns, the project that includes construction of the future track and accompanying facilities should be implemented at the surface of few tens of hectares of land. The race track itself would be 3.5 km long, while the stands would be big enough for over 20,000 spectators. The investor is offered three locations. The most probably is the route alongside regional road Stara Pazova-Golubinci where necessary infrastructure has already been built. Construction would last for two years, while the investment would amount to 20m EUR.

GOOD PROJECT

- What is even more important to us is that many other facilities will be built next to the race track within the Technology Park - Jović reveals. - Since the investor intends to test and produce parts in Serbia, as well as complete racing cars, that means that the new jobs for the people in the municipality will be created in the process.
