Serbia to Get Smart Center for Navigation Supervision – Tendering for Implementation of VTS and VHF Boat Traffic Management System Opens

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has opened a tender for the implementation of a VTS system and a VHF (very high frequency) system of boat radio stations on the Danube and the Sava, as well as a data center and VTS center, to be located in Belgrade.

The VTS (vessel traffic service) system is a system for the monitoring of water transport, roughly equivalent to flight control in air transport.

The estimated value of the job is EUR 850,000, and the project will be 40% financed by the European Investment Bank and 60% from the state budget of Serbia, within the agreement on the financing of infrastructure of inland waterways between the Republic of Serbia and the EIB.
