Dafar Leather Company from Zrenjanin export leather for Gucci and Moschino
Zrenjanin-based leather factory Dafar plans to sell 10m EUR worth of ready-made and refined leather this year and keep exporting leather for Italian fashion companies Gucci and Moschino.
The President of Dafar's Administrative Board said to the press that that factory was currently purchasing rawhide from about 100 slaughterhouses in the region, while 95% of ready-made products were being exported.
- The plan for this year anticipates production of between 150,000 and 200,000 meters of ready-made leather, about 250,000 meters of refined leather and about 3,500 tons of rawhide for further trading - said he.
He adds that, when it comes to domestic market, Dafar mainly cooperates with Gepard, as well as fashion companies Mona, Manual, Mub and others.- The collection of samples produced in the Zrenjanin-based factory is accepted for year 2011 by world-famous brands Moschino and Gucci. We are currently negotiating on business cooperation with Prada and several other world-renowned fashion brands - said Galović.
The owners of Dafar are Italian company FALC and Dutch Kitrans, and the factory was additionally capitalized by 2m EUR in January 2010.
The factory has 95 workers and certain number of associates. The intention of Dafar's management is to expand production capacities.
The Deputy Mayor of Zrenjanin, Goran Kaurić, said during the tour of the factory that it was important for the City that the factory, which had had certain problems earlier, was stabilized and started progressing.
